Salāh as an encouragement to your Awrad (Litanies)

Salam Aleikum Warahmatullah wabarakatuhu beloved (s)

Know that your Salāh (obligatory prayers) are connected to your daily litanies (Awrad).

How?
All the litanies of the path (Tijani)  are connected in one way or the other with our daily Salāh, it is like that because;

The litanies were placed to encourage us not to ever ignore or neglect our daily Salāh.
Sidna Shaykh Ahmad bn Muhammad at-Tijani (ra)  says:

“Your litanies are similar to your Salāh”

The first day litany of the path is morning (litany), and it would only be done after observing Fajr Salāh. The jurisprudence (fiqh) of the path stated it to be done after Fajr / morning Salāh not before or without observing it.
It should be noted that, without observing the Salāh before reciting the litanies, our litanies became invalid even if not unacceptable by Allah (Asteg’firullah I’m not the one to judge or decide that).

Maolana Shaykh al-Islam Ibrahim Niasse Says:

“Likewise we pray (observe Salāh)! For we do not know of any religion that has no prayer in it. For the matter is greater!

Is there any nourishment for the spirit like Salāh? Is there anything that can match Wu’du (Ablution) and fasting (Saw’m) in purifying you?”

Also the erudite scholar and a great saint, Shaykh al-Islam Ibrahim al-Riyahi al-Tunisi (ra) says:

“I have never met anybody whose qiyam and whose sujud lasted longer than his.”

Why can’t we emulate that from Sidna Shaykh Ahmad bn Muhammad at-Tijani (ra) when we claim we follow his path?!

But, all we are saying is;

 …not observing Salāh and doing the litanies is not polite as a seeker or whatever we may be on the spiritual path.
Once again, our litanies are placed to encourage us more to observe all our Salāwat not to neglect them and feel saved.

  • Fajr Salāh = Morning litany
  • Zuhr Salāh leads to Asr Salāh
  • Asr Salāh = Evening litany
  • Mohgrib Salāh = Wazifah (Daily litany before Salāh Ishai)
  • Then Ishai.

May Allah SWT grant us the capability, ability and straight to serve him selflessly and tirelessly.

Ameen.

I urged you to ignore my mistakes and grasp the message this text brought to you.
Salam!
Alhamdulillah
—Ahmad Tijani Ibrahim Kalalah
